Since the advernt of electronic commerce, 'a system where system where trading takes place through electronic process' internet marketing has been a market mover in the online world. Internet marketing on its own its a type of e-commerce.

Internet marketing also known as i-marketing is the selling and buying of products or services over the internet. In recent years markerters has made millions from internet marketing.

The internet market in not yet saturated. It still got lot of opportunity and its still looks like a virgin ground. PricewaterhouseCoopers reported that US$16.9 billion was spent on Online marketing in the U.S. in 2006.President Barack Obama raised over US$1 million in a single day during his extensive Democratic candidacy campaign, largely due to online donors. Thanks to internet marketing. There are still blllions to be made from internet marketing, all you need is the right internet marketing strategy.

Let us take a close look at some internet marketing strategies and see how our busininess can benefit from them.

E-Commerce

Electronic commerce consists of the buying and selling of products or services over electronic systems such as the Internet and other computer networks. E commerce can take the form of one business selling to another business also known as B2B or business to business. Another type of ellectronic commerce is the one conducted between business and consumers, it is known as B2C or business to consumers. Example of this is carried out by Ebay and Amazon.

Electronic Commerce can be conducted entirely electronically for virtual items such as access to premium content on a website, it can also involve the physical delevery of goods.
If you want to use the ecommerce strategy for your business you should have goods or services to sell. you can also sell electronic books like ebooks and other electronic items including e-magazins.

With a good website and e-commerce strategy you can make a good turn over and gain a better market share for your small business.

E-Commerce marketing strategy

For an effective e-commerce marketing strategy we are going to use the traditional 4p.

Product

For a good e-commerce marketing strategy you have to be very familiar with your products. Create a brand for yourself. This will help create a good image for your product. Let your customer know the benefit of the product. If the product have issues with its usage or parts let your customer know how to retify it in the event of one. Dont forget to let your customers know the advantage of buying online and also for buying from you.

Place
Place represents the location where a product can be purchased. It is often referred to as the distribution channel. It can include any physical store as well as virtual stores on the Internet. Your website which is where the product can be purchase should be users and search engine friendly. The site should be easy to navigate. The payment system should be well automoted.
What about your distributive channel, you customers should know how they will get their goods and know when to get them. their goods should be well packaged. Make sure your product get to your customers within the agreed time.

Price
The price is the amount a customer pays for the product. The business may increase or decrease the price of product if other stores have the same product. Always compare your price with that of your competitors.

Promotion
Promotion represents all of the communications that a marketer may use in the marketplace. Promotion has four distinct elements: advertising, public relations, personal selling and sales promotion. Use these promotional strategy to promote your product. Dont forget that in internet marketing your website is very important when it comes to promotion

Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is a marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's own marketing efforts. Examples include click banks, where users are rewarded by a percentage of their sales as commission for the customers they directed to their sites ( click bank ) through their affiliate efforts. Other examples include rewards sites, where users are rewarded with cash or gifts, for the completion of an offer, and the referral of others to the site.

Affiliate marketing is a form of online marketing, it uses one website to drive trafic to another. Affiliate marketing continue to play significant role in Internet marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a good marketing strategy. This gives you the opportunity to profit from other people's product. When you register with an affiliate, you help them drive trafic to their site and you will be paid a percentage as commission for your affiliate effort. Y
You can start an affiliate marketing product with only a website, you dont need finance to register with most of these affiliate. You can earn very good commission also from your affiliate effort, this is a marketing strategy you dont want to miss out.

Find a Niche

To be successful in affiliate marketing the first thing you have to do is to find a nich for yourself. A niche is a targatable propotion of a market. You have to create a niche for yourself and focuse on that niche. You dont have to offer everthing under the sun. Find a niche, focuse on it and promopte it. Remember that you are dealing with a very big market so you will always be in business if you create a niche for yourself and promote it properly.

Know Your Product

Take your time to learn about the product or products that comes under your niche, You should be able to know your product enough to create confidence for your customers. A well researched niche and product will always give you a possitive sale with a good search engine friendly website.

Know Your Audience
Know your audience, who are they, what are their age, sex, and taste. these information will be very relevant to your niche focuse site. With the right information about your audience you will be able to serve them better.

Promotion of your site

Once you have built your niche focuse site you will need to promote it. But a well built search engine friendly site will give you enough trafic. If you wish you can also promote your site. One of the most common system is the pay-per-click.
